Chris Stone and Michael White in a Beach Fuck (Huge Video, 1990)

Idol Eyes was directed by Matt Sterling and published way back in 1990 by Huge Video, part of the Falcon Studio Group.  The big star attraction was Ryan Idol whose dark and handsome visage sold many copies as he was featured on the cover (see the end of this post).  I have watched this scene countless times since I acquired the original VHS tape way back when, and I still find things to enjoy.  But a recent viewing made me realise just how much gay porn has moved on since those days.  So if you are young enough not to have seen the original production, you may find this interesting from an historical perspective; otherwise you may find it simply dreadful by today's standards.  Start with the soundtrack ... music was pretty much de rigueur in those days and this is of its time, but with an almost 60s feel to it!  Then the production values: we find short segments of film shunted almost randomly together and often an identical short sequence will be used more than once, as will be obvious from a close inspection of the screencaps below.  Nevertheless, it was all skilfully put together and flowed pretty seamlessly, and only the truly alert would notice the repetitions on first viewing.  But there were other big issues, such as the fact that Ryan Idol, gay porn star though he was, did not put his dick into any man-holes in this film, and in his only fucking scene in this movie they used a "cock double" for the closeups of the fucking action.  Otherwise Ryan was just acting out his part, thrusting away behind the man he was supposedly fucking, but with nothing actually going on there!  And the settings are pretty much what you would expect in a good high school production: the scene I am reviewing here never made it anywhere near the beach, except for the shots of Ryan.  Gosh ... they wouldn't get away with it these days!  But the first scene just features Ryan just as a pretty face and body coming to terms with his own sexuality, as many men were in those days.  He views the action from a distance, giving us plenty of opportunity to admire his bulge-inducing speedo.  The main action of this scene features mega-star Chris Stone, beautifully built and with dark and handsome good looks.  And it was for him that I came again and again to this scene, which starts off with Chris and Michael White in their speedos eyeing each other out.  The action is expertly done, and I particularly like the finger action when Chris is getting head!  Even given all of the above negative criticism, I still love this scene!  Call me a romantic old fucker, and you'd probably be right!! But first up, to give you a feel of 1990s gay porn, here are the three stars of the clip strutting their stuff in their speedos!
